Dreaming of Windows: Windows-Closed or Open in Dreams

So what does dreaming of windows mean?

Windows represent the obvious - an opening. A Window lets the light in and let's you see what's outside or even what's inside.

Well how did you see the window in your dream?

Were you watching someone from a window? Did you longed to be with that someone from the outside? If yes, then window is simply an emotional barrier between you and that special someone.

Did you open the window in your dream?

You are inviting someone or something new ino your inner world. This could mean a positive change like letting your defenses down and being less guarded with your emotions.

Was the window dirty or covered with snow? Simply means you are not looking at situation clearly or you are not seeing this opening as an opportunity for change.

Dealing with Bouts of Sleep Paralysis: A Waking State of Mind

I suffer from some sort of sleep paralysis or sleep disorder which I figure stems from these migraines I have, I have these neuro problems that I feel are hard to describe.

Anyway, all these neurological things plus stress affect my dream and waking states. Sometimes I wake up and I see a form at the foot of my bed. I feel that this figure is staring down at me, well it feels clearly that way. It takes about two seconds to get unfrozen and to fully realize that I am now awake. By then, the figure at the foot of the bed is gone. Pffft!

I don't think its some ghost, specter or paranormal activity. If it was, it would have probably lingered on far longer and maybe even made its presence felt more strongly.

This has happened to me quite a number of times, waking up from different dream scenarios and seeing with my naked eye, dream-like and hallucinatory, figures from my dream existing in my waking state for a few seconds. Imagine, seeing characters from your dream in your bedroom.

I guess my brain is rather slow to shift from the two states- dreaming and waking. The two get mixed up and logically, this would explain the sleep paralysis I experience. Sometimes I wake up terrified in a sweat, sometimes I would watch things for a few seconds unable to move my body, sometimes I don't feel any fear at all, just some confusion waking up being still drowsy from sleep.

If you do get to experience this kind of sleep paralysis first hand, well take it from Douglas Adams, he said it best, "Don't Panic!"

Pop Quiz Hotshot! What Do Dreams about Taking a Test or Exam Mean?

Its been years since you were a student and in your dream you find yourself taking an exam, a dreadful pop quiz, a test. Regardless, whether its a multiple-choice exam, an essay or a test for filling in the blanks.

Dreams about taking Exams is mired by so much anxiety. The dream itself catches you off guard, unprepared, afraid of flunking the said test.

So what does dreaming about Tests and Exams mean?

You are being measured, and weighed of your worth. Will you succeed? Reach a passing mark? Or fail miserably? In real life, its about meeting people's expectations of you. Perhaps you are undergoing a lot of scrutiny at work, being underminded by colleagues, evaluated by your bosses. Dissected and emotionally prodded by your peers and family.

Fear of the Random Variable
Being in that room, helpless, undergoing the exam, and surprised at being tested for something you never studied for or ever known about. May it be a foreign language, complex math, statistics, or useless trivia. The element of surprise in Dreaming about an Exam is facing something unknown, something so random and spontaneous, it becomes an irrational fear itself. Like in real life, it comes when you least expect it and may even ruined your long term plans.

A Child Who Refuses to Listen and a Cosmic Joke

My Dreams this week:

I dreamt my son fell off the balcony, two floors down. He wouldn't stop playing on the ledge and he wouldn't listen to me. He promised me he wouldn't fall, but he did because he let go.

The moment he fell, I closed my eyes waiting for a thud, my knees were so weak I couldn't get myself to run and look over the edge. My eyes were so shut tight, when I opened them I woke up and felt relieved to find my 5 year-old boy beside me.

My Second Dream around Thursday was interesting because I felt myself physically laughing, smiling, tossing and turning on the bed- quite a happy dreamer. I remember being lucid, even telling myself, I must remember the dream because it was hilarious as if it was the answer to everything, that it could easily unnerved and de-stress anyone. It was a dream I must tell everyone. Upon waking, laughing even, everything fell apart and I couldn't remember what was so funny about it. I couldn't remember the details of the dream at all, only the sensations associated with it- humor, happiness, the cosmic joke of it all. I felt robbed.

Dreams on Tooth loss: What it means when my Teeth are falling out

I dreamt my teeth are falling out.

foto by MilkToof

This is one of the most common dreams on Earth. Unbelievable, right? Ask people around you and you'd be surprised how this dream happens to almost everyone in his lifetime.

It could be just the front tooth falling off, followed by the molars and the rest. Losing teeth one by one, to your horror it becomes a definite nightmare.

Or they all fall off at the same time.

Or something grows in place of your teeth and your gums are not left empty. What does this dental dream of teeth falling out mean?

Dream Interpreters have associated the following issues:

• Indecisiveness
You do not have a strong 'bite', you do not leave a mark or an impression at all. You're losing your teeth in your dream because you are unassertive in solving problems. It also hints at your own immaturity in tackling problems.

• Vanity
Losing your smile, keeping your mouth shut out of embarrassment of these missing teeth. You have self-image issues you need to address and this fear of dental disfigurement is eating you up from the inside. It is obvious you are very critical of your self-image and how other perceives you.

• Fear of Aging
Most of us dread getting old and as we age, we slowly lose our teeth. You have this hidden fear that you may not age gracefully or you absolutely hate the idea of losing your youth one day. This is an inevitable truth we all have to accept, we all age. Otherwise, the only solution is to your fear is an early untimely death.

Interpreting a Dream about Shoes

Do you think Imelda Marcos dreams of Shoes every night?

Perhaps. The lady does have itchy feet.

Come cool your heels then, if you dreamt recently about shoes, any thing that consoles the soles - sneakers, stilettos, maryjanes, sandals, boots, loafers. I guess it all boils down to an identity crisis and personal conviction issues bugging you all week.

Often dreams referring to aspects of your wardrobe only point out to the inner persona, not your personal style or fashion sense. Things such as shoes conceal and reveal your personal image to the world. Now when we dream about them, then there is a crisis within your identity and how you view yourself.

Shoes in dreams symbolize an individual's standpoint, your personal beliefs and conviction.

So check this out and see if your shoe dream fits under the following context:

Were you out shopping for shoes?
Then you are looking for something new, perhaps craving for change.

Were you trying a shoe on? How did it feel?
Fitting a shoe has something to do with one's sexual nature.

Did it fit you snugly? Or it wasn't your size?
It means you are comfortable with your sexuality, if it felt loose then you are losing touch with your sensual nature, maybe you are becoming less romantic or less interested.

In the dream, were you walking on a new pair?
You long to start anew by making a life-altering decision.

Or did you remove the shoes and then started walking barefoot?
Perhaps you are longing to be carefree, that you have that innate need to feel the ground beneath your feet. You want to set yourself free from all worries.

Did you by chance in the dream, start wearing someone else's shoes?
Either you are longing to experience someone else's life or hoping to go through life through that person's point of view. Are you envious of this person? Or just trying to understand them better?

Vampires in Dreams: Hidden Meanings in One Bite

Too much hype on Twilight has got me dreaming of Vampires. Is there something really romantic about these bloodsuckers? Gone are the tacky capes as contemporary media has blessed the vampire lore with a sexy twist, reimagining these nocturnal lotharios as longing and lustful eternal companions.

So it goes, I come to dream of them often. After reading Anne Rice or Poppy Z. Brite or watching Moonlight or TrueBlood, my subconscious seems to get the message I need to project the vampire of my dreams at true REM.

If you consult, the dream psychics and dream scholars about dreaming of vampires, they would easily pinpoint towards the obvious cause of stress- someone or something is draining you of your energy and sound mind.

Like a vampire sucking blood out of your jugular, your dreams project you are under someone's spell, being manipulated into submission. Someone has power over you.

You can also be consume by negative thoughts, you are letting this negative ideas eat your core. Again, draining you of your life force.

Nevermind if it was Robert Pattinson sucking your neck, your dreams are telling you about someone- that vampire in your life. It is taking control of you and dragging you into a situation where you are helpless. That person may have co-dependency issues, an addict or simply greedy for your affection that you are unable to live your own life.

Now if you're the one doing the blood sucking in your dreams, well I guess like a vampire you are getting way too needy or imposing on that person.
